Does anybody know how to get financial help for cremation?

Parent did not have insurance. Need help for cremation.

1. Backyard bonfire is my suggestion.
2. States, counties, and cities may have financial assistance programs that can help cover the cost of cremation. You might try a Google search for your state, county, or city and cremation financial assistance programs.
3. Ask at the County Human or Social Services Department. They usually have a fund to help bury indigent people. Funeral directors should be able to help you get in contact with them. I know my elderly mother doesn't have insurance either. She's donating her body to science to get a free cremation.
